H.R. 45

Gun control strikes again. In the name of trying to do the right thing after an innocent person is killed with a gun, yet another bill is written that, if passed, will achieve the abolute opposite of its intent.

When will people learn that criminals won't obey yet another law when they already are disobeying the ones that lead to them hurting people in a myriad of ways. So here we have another law that will impose more regulations, restrictions and costs on law abiding citizens and do absolutely nothing to improve any aspect of this world. Then on top of it all, citizens will, in ex post facto form, become criminals for even owning a gun if they don't jump through all the proper hoops that accomplish nothing of value.

The sadly funny part is that a convicted felon could even lie on all the application forms and be immune from prosecution because they can't be convicted of lying on the forms because they are immune from being compelled to tell the truth on the forms (they can't be compelled to do something that incriminates themselves). Neat huh? On the other hand someone who is not a convicted felon could become a criminal and be convicted simply by making a mistake on the license application.

The world is upside down.
